Jared Newall is a singing teacher with over 16 years of teaching experience, combining professional performance training with evidence-based vocal care.

Annual Concert

More than just a recital, our annual concert is a complete performance skills masterclass.

Students perform a solo and a group number, working directly with a professional accompanist to learn real-world rehearsal etiquette and performance stagecraft.

The concert will run between 60-75 minutes. Please stick around afterwards for tea, coffee, and snacks! Talk to Jared if you would like to bring along any goodies to share.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the minimum age for students?

I generally accept students from age 7-8. However, if you have a younger singer who is particularly keen, please reach out for a consultation or exception.

What is your cancellation policy?

A 24-hour notice period is required for all cancellations. This aligns with industry standards to protect the studio. However, I value flexibility - if a student becomes sick during the day, please reach out immediately so we can arrange a makeup lesson.

How do I terminate lessons?

Termination of lessons requires a minimum of 2 weeks' notice. Please note that no refunds are provided for fees already paid for the term.

Jared Newall Vocal Studio: Terms & Conditions (2026)

Welcome to the studio! These terms are designed to ensure a professional, sustainable, and creative environment for all students. By enrolling in lessons, you agree to the following:

1. TUITION FEES & BOOKING

Individual Lessons: $55 for 30 Minutes | $75 for 45 Minutes

Casual/One-Off Coaching (60 mins): $120

Payment Terms: Fees are payable either weekly (due 24 hours before the lesson) or in blocks of 10 (due by the first lesson of the term).

Payment Methods: Payments are processed via Stripe via MyMusicStaff. Bank transfer is available (although email notification is required).

2. CANCELLATIONS & MISSED LESSONS

The 24-Hour Rule: To respect the tutor's time and studio overheads, lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours' notice will be forfeited and charged at the full rate.

Notification: All absences must be logged via the MyMusicStaff Student Portal or via email.

Rescheduling: If more than 24 hours' notice is given, a "Makeup Credit" will be issued. These credits can be used to book open slots during the current term or in dedicated school holiday catch-up sessions.

Tutor Absence: If Jared is unable to attend a lesson, a makeup session will be arranged.

3. STUDIO RECORDINGS

Educational Tool: Audio and video recording is used frequently as a pedagogical tool.

Guaranteed Recording: Every student is guaranteed one "studio-style" recording per semester (comprising two consecutive terms). This ensures that regardless of learning pace, every student finishes the semester with a high-quality record of their progress and technical development.

Forfeiture of Recording: The guaranteed recording is a benefit for ongoing students. Should a student provide notice to terminate their lesson agreement or cease lessons prior to the conclusion of a full semester, they forfeit the right to the guaranteed recording.

Additional Recordings: Should a student request additional studio recordings beyond the guaranteed semester recording, a fee of $200 per track will apply. This rate accounts for the technical labor required outside of lesson hours.

Completion: While a semester recording is guaranteed, the specific timing of the session depends on the student's readiness.

4. PROFESSIONAL SCOPE OF PRACTICE (SLP)

Singing vs. Speech Pathology: Jared Newall is a qualified Speech Pathologist (MSpPath, SPA Registered). While his clinical knowledge of voice science informs his singing teaching, singing lessons are not Speech Pathology sessions.

Boundaries: Singing lessons focus on performance, artistry, and vocal health. Clinical assessment or treatment of speech/language/swallowing disorders cannot be performed during a singing lesson.

Referrals: While clinical needs can be discussed, please note that being a singing student does not afford priority access to Speech Pathology services.

5. TERMINATION OF LESSONS

If you wish to cease lessons, two weeks' notice is required. This allows the studio to offer the timeslot to students on the waiting list.

By paying your first invoice, you acknowledge and accept these terms.
